Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of Pile of Games (“POG”), a website where you can log, rate and share the games you have played. The provider is named in the Imprint.

1. Your account

• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
• Give accurate information, keep your password secure and don’t share your account.
• You are responsible for what happens under your account.

2. Your content

Content you post (profile text, reviews, diary notes, lists, comments) stays yours. By posting it you give us the right to store it and show it on the website as described in the Privacy Policy, for as long as it is on the website. Profiles, reviews, public lists, comments and follows are visible to everyone.

Content must be plain text. Don’t post:

• illegal content, or content that sexualizes or endangers minors;
• hate, threats, harassment or doxxing;
• spam, advertising, scams or links;
• content that impersonates other people;
• profile pictures that show nudity, violence or anything else covered by this list, or that show other people without their consent;
• unmarked spoilers (use the spoiler option for reviews).

Don’t use bots, scrapers or other automated tools, and don’t try to bypass limits or security checks.

3. Moderation

You can report content and profiles. We review reports and may remove content, or suspend accounts that break these terms. You can block other accounts at any time. If you disagree with a decision, write to chris@jnkdesign.de.

4. Game data

Game information and cover images come from IGDB.com and belong to their respective owners. POG is not affiliated with the publishers or developers of the games shown.

5. Availability and changes

We try to keep the website available, but we can’t guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change or stop features. Keep your own copy of what matters to you: you can download your data under Account.

6. Liability

We are liable without limit for intent, gross negligence and injury to life, body or health, and as required by mandatory law. In other cases we are only liable for breaches of essential obligations and only for typical, foreseeable damage. Content posted by users is the responsibility of those users.

7. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time under Account. We may suspend or end accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms.

8. Applicable law

German law applies. Mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live stay unaffected.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we add features. The date at the top shows the current version. For significant changes we will ask for your agreement again where the law requires it.
