Destiny 2 is an absolute love-hate relationship. Unfortunately, the game was dragged through the dirt, but I can only recommend it. Maybe not necessarily now, but give the game a chance in the near future. Once the story is unvaulted again, you could finally experience again what Destiny 2 has to offer narratively. Because despite all its flaws, there is something damn special in this franchise.
