Who hasn’t always wanted to know what it looks like behind the scenes of Organization XIII? In this spin-off of the Kingdom Hearts series, we experience the story of Roxas, a member of the organization, and his friends Axel and Xion. In doing so, we delve deep into the everyday work of the wearers. Playfully, this offshoot is once again fundamentally different from the main series. An own combat and level system as well as individual game mechanics ensure a very own gaming experience. In my opinion, the story is also extraordinary. You do not play exclusively Roxas, but also have the opportunity to control almost every member of Organization XIII. Unlike the other games in the series, this part even featured a full-fledged multiplayer mode in which up to four players could immerse themselves in the world of Kingdom Hearts together with their Nintendo DS. The story especially shines through the relationship between Roxas, Axel and Xion and offers some exciting twists and emotional moments. Unfortunately, unlike Chain of Memories and Dream Drop Distance, this game never made it to a full-fledged remake. In the console collection of Kingdom Hearts, we are instead presented with only a film that summarizes the story and the main cutscenes of the game. Nevertheless, I can only give a clear recommendation to any fan who has the opportunity to experience this game on the Nintendo DS. In my opinion, 358/2 Days is an essential part of the entire Kingdom Hearts story.
