When the anticipation of a game rises immeasurably, the waiting time seems almost endless and the expectation is to have to surpass one of the best indie games of all time, then a game can only disappoint. And yet we stand here today and can seriously debate whether Silksong is a little worse, equal or perhaps even better than his predecessor. Ultimately, however, this question hardly plays a role. Because although both games address the same target group, they differ so fundamentally in their narrative and the design of their combat system that an objective evaluation seems almost impossible. Whether you prefer the first or the second part ultimately depends less on a measurable quality than on your own preferences. Silksong tells a more stringent story that follows a clearly defined goal and puts the storyline more at the center of the gaming experience. In addition, there is a much faster movement and combat system, which gives the game its own dynamics. The boss fights have also won noticeably in demand and present even experienced players with challenges that were rarely found in this form and frequency in the first part.
