The sixth Pokémon region was my very first and is therefore associated with a lot of nostalgia. With the mega-evolutions, they established the first and best gimmick of the franchise. I personally like the much criticized switch from 2D to 3D. In addition, you get an unusually deep story for Pokémon, cool box-art legendaries and a suitably themed region. It’s also fun as a randomizer nuke.
