Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse* is definitely better than Steam reviews (which stood at 69% in October 2026) suggest; In fact, it’s my favorite Metroidvania of the year (I also played *Well Dweller* and *Grime 2*). It offers a thoughtful weapon and arcana upgrade system that feels really rewarding, as well as an excellent level design – but you should enjoy jump-n-run passages as there are plenty of them. The gameplay looks like a successful mix of *Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown* and *Blasphemous*. The movements are fluid, even if there are occasional dips in the frame rate and the backtracking can sometimes be a bit laborious – However, all this is limited. The music ranges from good to very good, even if it seems a little generic here and there. It is not quite enough for the S-Class (such as *Hollow Knight*, *Silksong* or *Nine Sols*), but for me it definitely ends up in the A+ category! :
