Update

Your diary now tells the whole story

Status changes land in your diary, every game gets one review that grows with updates, and you can follow discussions. Plus: the app is on its way.

We’re almost at 1,000 members, and every day we learn more about how you use POG: what you love, what you miss and where things get in your way. That’s what we build on. From now on, this page is where we tell you what changed and why. Here’s the first round.

Started, finished, dropped: right in your diary

Until now, pressing Playing, Finished or Dropped on a game page only changed the game’s status. Your diary never heard about it. Now every status change becomes a diary entry for that day, so your diary shows when you started a game and when you finished or dropped it.

  • Pressed the wrong button? Pick another status on the same day and the entry updates itself.

  • When you log a session, you can now say what happened: On this day I … Just played / Started / Finished / Dropped. You can also add it later for an older date.

  • Your collection status always follows your most recent milestone.

Logging a session: “On this day I … Finished”. Because there’s already a review, you choose between an update and editing it.

One review per game, with updates

Some of you wrote multiple reviews for the same game. That split likes and comments across several reviews, and it was hard to see how your opinion changed. Now every game has one review. Anything you write later is added to it as an update, with the date and your playtime at that moment.

  • Updates appear as a timeline under the review.

  • On the playtime bar, small markers show when each update was written.

  • If you already reviewed a game, the log overlay asks what you want: Add an update or Edit your review. If you just want to log playtime, simply skip it.

  • We merged existing double reviews: the oldest one stays the review, later ones became updates. Likes and comments moved along, nothing got lost.

Follow discussions

When you comment on a review, a list or a post here, you now follow that discussion automatically. If more people reply, you get one notification that sums it up (“+3 more”) instead of a new one for every comment. Not interested anymore? Switch it off with Following discussion above the comments.

Commenting follows the discussion automatically. Click the bell to stop.

Small things

  • When you log a game, the platform from your last entry is already selected.

  • List cards no longer show empty placeholders when a list has fewer than five games.

  • The number on the bell disappears as soon as you open it.

Hey! Listen! The app is on its way

One more thing: the POG app for iOS and Android has been submitted to Apple and Google for review. We can’t control how fast they review and approve it, or whether there will be another round of feedback first. We just wanted to let you know early that the app is coming :)

That’s it for now. What should we build next? Leave a comment below, we read all of them. Become a POG CHAMP if you want to support the work behind all this.
